Scenes from erotic somatic storytelling

I’m a true bookworm and my first great sexual awakening came late, just before my 31st birthday, through a novel. Reading Anais Nin’s description of her passionate love affairs, I was floored. I suddenly knew that I had never really experienced eroticism or even true sex in connection. Not what it could be. Not what she was so explosively describing. And I felt myself awakening with every word. It’s been an immense journey of discovery since then and our sensual storytelling meetup on Tuesday felt like coming full circle since that first taste of the literary erotic. I’m still on fire from the night!

The entire thing was an experiment - dreamed up and impeccably designed and delivered by our own welfare angels and resident writers, Ruth and Gladys San Juan. We were apprehensive when they first suggested it. How could they make the essentially solo process of writing into a sensual connective act? How would they ignite desire enough to get the inspiration for these words flowing?

But, my god, did they succeed. It was edgy, sultry, playful, ritualistic, and truly connective. They led us gently; blindfolded at first while we listened to Ruth’s own erotic writing. Inspired, each person wrote a single sentence describing what they felt, desired, wanted on a piece of ribbon; bravely read it aloud and tenderly tied it to our bodies. Then in pairs and groups, we began to explore the skin as canvas - discovering with our pens on bodies the words and sentences and stories that emerged. Wow, if you feel like massage is sensual, try the subtle sweep of a pen-tip across your neck.

The whole night was a reminder of the powerful potency of words to excite us and, even more, the transformative, releasing effect of sharing them through the body. Somehow touchingly innocent and gentle while still smoldering with the sexiness of voicing our darkest desires - incredibly hot!

These are the kind of spaces I love to be part of and the ones we want to create more of at Fox&Badge. We cannot thank Ruth and Gladys enough for their dedication to this project - for designing each aspect and exercise with such care and creativity and wisdom. And to all those who came - I’m constantly astounded by the trust, the sweet openness and pure acceptance of this community. Thank you my precious deviants for experimenting with us so playfully!

Thanks also to the wonderful Tommy (https://www.instagram.com/sweetboyt/) and Izzy (and baby bump!) (https://www.instagram.com/isabellethefae/) for preparing and guiding guests along every step of the journey. And to the amazing Jolly Thompson who signed up to experience the night with her partner but instead generously offered to shoot it for us instead. Jolly shoots all of our costume workshops; always as a volunteer, always beautifully and creatively. What a gift she brings! You can see her full album of Tuesday’s workshop and more of her stunning work at: https://jollythompson.dphoto.com/album/nrjy3a

If you missed us on Tuesday, Ruth and Gladys have exciting plans to create more of these events and ones like them and you can follow them at https://www.instagram.com/thevelvettales/ - If you have your own creative idea for a workshop that you’d like to try out with us, please do get in touch!
